Hello! It’s once again Gig Guide time, and this week we’ve focused on family events for you and the little ones for Easter! If this doesn’t appeal to you don’t fear – we’ve kept a few concerts in there just for you!
Naomi’s Wild & Scary Tour @ Town Hall, 7th-8th April
Children’s TV presenter Naomi Wilkinson is embarking on a nationwide tour, Wild & Scary this Spring! Join Naomi as she recalls some of her most exciting and adrenaline-boosting wildlife experiences from the far flung corners of the world, introducing the audience to some of the fierce and frightening animals she has met along the way! She will be joined by Animal Mark and some of his scariest creatures.
Ideal for families with children aged 5 years or older, Wild & Scary will keep everyone on the edge of their seats. From Borneo, to Belize, Africa to Australia, the show will spill secrets and astound the kids with some of the world’s scariest animals, giving the audience an incredible interactive experience unheard of in traditional theatre shows.
Dragon Egg Hunt @ Sarehole Mill, 8th-9th April
Dragons have made their nests at Sarehole Mill! Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to find the eggs around the Mill, solve the riddles and claim your prize!
If you’re going to add something to Easter to make it even more exciting, dragons are a pretty solid choice – and one the kids will love! At just £3 per child and £6 per adult this is one of the more reasonable Easter activities for you and the family!
King’s Heath Dining Club @ Hare & Hounds, 9th April
Digbeth Dining Club and The Hare & Hounds are joining forces once again for the first dining club of 2017! As well as the usual selection of the UK’s finest street food traders, music will be provided by Leftfoot and the DCC Resident DJs.
And if that wasn’t enough, Digbeth Arts Market will be providing market stalls, one of which will be occupied by for-Wards! It’s your chance to nab yourself some lovely for-Wards goodies, including our fabulous Soundmap prints and postcards! What more could you want?
You Me at Six + Tonight Alive + Black Foxxes @ 02 Academy, 10th April
There aren’t many rock bands to come out of the UK in the last ten years than You Me At Six. With a reputation as one of the best live British bands and a back catalogue filled with choruses made to be sung by an audience, You Me At Six are sure to play a frenetic and high-energy show as they support their 5th studio album Night People.
Support is provided by pop-punk Aussie sweethearts Tonight Alive, with the proceedings being opened by rambunctious rockers Black Foxxes.
The Amazon’s @ Mama Roux’s, 11th April
Hype is a word that surrounds this band – and rightfully so. A Best Breakthrough Act nomination, Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World and a support slot with Jimmy Eats World – this band have so much upward momentum they’re practically vertical.
With influence from Rage Against the Machine, Foals and Nirvana, the band are an ode to a bygone era, playing primal, heavy and loud. Don’t take our word for it – have a listen to the aforementioned Hottest Record in the World:
