If you had not already gathered, for-Wards is an audaciously ambitious musical ode to Brum. Local composer Bobbie-Jane Gardner and a team of professional musicians have worked with local communities in Birmingham to collect and record the sounds of their neighbourhood. Live performances of new music inspired by 3 local wards are planned at community libraries the Library of Birmingham from 20th to 28th March.
To celebrate these performances, for-Wards have teamed up with Headstock Distribution to offer a beautiful acoustic Laney Ibanez G200E NT guitar in this fantastic competition!
*We’re asking performance event attendees to submit a short (no more than 1 minute 30 seconds) audio recording that depicts their neighbourhood. We are not worried about the quality of the audio (mobile phone recording quality is fine), but more the uniqueness of the sound/s you capture. All entries will be uploaded on to our soundcloud.com/for-wards and for-Wards map website page.
Recordings can be submitted by email to info@for-Wards.co.uk by 16th March 2015
To qualify to enter you must be registered to attend one of our live performances in March.
The winner will be announced at the performance the winning entrant is registered to attend.
