I’m Bobbie!
As well as producing the project, I am composing a piece based on the sounds and ideas from residents based in Balsall Heath (Sparbrook ward).
I’m a Brummie and grew up in Acocks Green. I’m studying for a part-time Mmus in composition at Birmingham Conservatoire.

I’m really excited to explore the sonic possibilities granted through using field recordings in my compositions. Two of my more recent pieces have explored the sounds of food and electronics.
I wrote a piece for chef and orchestra called Chef Concertino:
And another for clarinet, cello, keys, amplified cooking sounds in Many Hands Make Light Work.
It’s been such a joy to meet so many fantastic people on the journey of this project so far. Looking forward to see how this all comes together!
